Instagram posts for photographers: what to post and when

A photographer already has the images; what's missing are the posts in between: open dates, packages and how working together goes. Here are ideas for the week, the best times to post according to the average of two public studies and the Feedmakers features that make each post.

What to post

  • Open dates for the wedding or event season
  • Your packages and what each one includes
  • How to prepare for a session
  • Seasonal mini sessions: date, place and spots
  • How long edited photos take and how they're delivered
  • What to bring to a family or pet session
  • What happens behind a session
  • A review, quoted exactly as it was written

When to post

Neither study has its own data for photographers, so the map uses the all-industries average.

Frequently asked questions

Does it change my photos?

If a photo goes through the creator, an image model redraws it and can change details. To post your photo as it is, you upload a post made outside Feedmakers and schedule it.

Does it follow my style?

Yes. Upload your posts and logo once, and every new piece follows how they're built: the palette, the type and how photo and text mix.

Can I schedule the posts?

Yes, on every plan: they go out on Instagram and Facebook right away or at the time you pick, up to 59 days ahead. The free plan publishes up to 20 posts a month.

How much does each post cost?

1 credit per image on Fast, 3 on Standard and 6 on High, and credits are only charged when the image comes out right. The caption doesn't spend credits.
