The short answer

With a professional account, Instagram lets you schedule from the app: in “Advanced settings” turn on “Schedule this post” and pick the day and time, up to 75 days ahead. With Feedmakers you schedule on Instagram and Facebook at once, up to 20 posts a month on the free plan.

From the Instagram app

You need a professional account. If yours is personal, start with the guide to switch it.

  1. Prepare the post as usual

Tap “+”, pick the photo or video, edit it and write the caption, hashtags and location.

    @northbound.coffee
@northbound.coffee Meet your brightest cold brew of the season.
  2. Turn on “Schedule this post”

Before sharing, open “Advanced settings” and turn on the scheduling option.

  3. Pick the day and time

You can schedule up to 75 days ahead. It waits for its time, and you can change it later from your profile.

With Feedmakers, on Instagram and Facebook

The difference: Feedmakers makes the post and it goes out on both networks.

  1. Connect your Meta account once

In My account, Connections, “Connect with Meta” brings your Facebook Page with its linked Instagram.

  2. Create the post or upload yours

Write the idea in one line and get the image with its caption. If you already have the image, upload it and Feedmakers writes the caption.

Good to know

  • Schedule in batches

Set aside one block a week to prepare everything. It's easier to keep the pace that way than deciding what to post every day.

  • Use your industry's best times

Two public studies show which days and hours work best for each type of business. They're on the best times page.

  • Check it before it goes out

Scheduled posts go out on their own: check the dates, prices and hours written in the image before you confirm.
